Booking Opportunities: FAQs for Owners

We've introduced Booking Opportunities, a new way for Camplify owners to connect with hirers who are actively looking for a vehicle for their trip.

If a hirer's original booking request can't be accepted, they can choose to share an anonymised version of their trip request with other Camplify owners. This gives you the opportunity to put your van forward if it's available and a good match.

Whether you're looking to fill a gap in your calendar, make the most of unexpected availability or simply find more potential bookings, here's everything you need to know.

What are Booking Opportunities?

Booking Opportunities are trip requests from hirers who are still looking for a suitable campervan or motorhome after their original booking request couldn't be fulfilled.

The hirer can choose to share their request with other Camplify owners, giving you the opportunity to review their trip requirements and get in touch if you have a suitable vehicle.

Where can I find Booking Opportunities?

You can find available opportunities within the Bookings section of your Camplify account.

Head to:

Bookings → Booking Opportunities

Here, you can browse trip requests that hirers have chosen to share with other owners.

The Booking Opportunities noticeboard, showing an open trip request shared by a hirer.

What information can I see about a hirer's request?

You'll be shown key information to help you decide whether your vehicle could be a good match for their trip.

Depending on the information available, this may include details such as:

    • Travel dates
    • Number of guests
    • Driver age
    • Relevant vehicle or trip requirements
    • The area where the hirer originally requested a vehicle
    • When the request closes

The request is shared to help owners assess whether they can fulfil the trip without unnecessarily sharing the hirer's personal information.

Why is the hirer's original location shown?

The location shown relates to the vehicle the hirer originally requested.

It can help give you an indication of the area in which they were previously looking for a vehicle. It does not necessarily mean the hirer lives in that location.

How do I respond to a Booking Opportunity?

If you see a request that suits your availability and vehicle, select the option to respond. You'll then be able to:

1.Choose the van you'd like to offer
If you have multiple vehicles on Camplify, select the one you think is the best match.

2. Write the hirer a message
Introduce yourself and explain why your vehicle could be a good fit for their trip.

3.Send your offer
Your response will start a conversation with the hirer through Camplify Messages.

Selecting your van and writing a message to the hirer, before sending your response.

What should I include in my message to the hirer?

Think of your first message as an opportunity to introduce your van and help the hirer understand why it could work for their trip.

We recommend mentioning things like:

    • Why your vehicle suits their trip
    • Your vehicle's location and collection options
    • Sleeping capacity
    • Standout features
    • Relevant facilities or extras
    • Anything else that could make their trip easier or more enjoyable

Try to make your message personal and relevant to their request rather than simply saying that your van is available. Remember, these hirers are actively looking for a vehicle, so a helpful introduction could make your listing stand out.

What happens after I respond?

Once you've responded, a conversation will open with the hirer through Camplify Messages. From there, you can answer questions, discuss their trip and help them decide whether your vehicle is right for them. If they'd like to move forward, you can then create and send a booking offer through the conversation.

How do I send the hirer a booking offer?

Within your conversation with the hirer, you'll have the option to create a booking offer. You'll be able to review the relevant booking details, including the vehicle, dates, hire type, number of guests and any applicable optional extras, before sending it to the hirer.

Building a booking offer from within your conversation with the hirer. (Contact names and message history blurred for privacy.)

Once you're happy with the details, send it through — the offer will appear directly in your conversation, ready for the hirer to review.

The booking offer appears in the conversation for the hirer to review and complete. (Contact name and message blurred for privacy.)

The hirer can then review the offer and decide whether they'd like to proceed.

Does responding guarantee me the booking?

No. Responding to a Booking Opportunity doesn't guarantee that the hirer will book your vehicle. The hirer can review the vehicles and messages they receive and decide which option is the best fit for their trip. That's why we'd recommend responding promptly and taking a little time to explain why your van could be a great match.

Does sending an offer automatically create a confirmed booking?                                            No. Sending the hirer an offer does not automatically confirm the booking. The hirer will have the opportunity to review the offer before deciding whether they'd like to proceed. The booking will then continue through the usual Camplify booking, approval and payment process.

Can other owners respond to the same request?

Booking Opportunities are shared with other Camplify owners, so you should assume that other suitable owners may also have the opportunity to respond. If you see a trip that's a great match for your vehicle, we'd recommend getting in touch rather than waiting.

Do hirers have to share their request?

No. If their original request isn't accepted, the hirer is given the option to Share my request. The request is only shared through this feature if they choose to do so.

Why should I check Booking Opportunities?

Booking Opportunities gives you another way to generate potential bookings rather than relying solely on hirers finding your listing themselves.

It can be particularly useful if you:

    • Have gaps you'd like to fill in your calendar
    • Have unexpected availability
    • Have recently had a cancellation
    • Want to increase your chances of securing more bookings
    • Have a vehicle that could be a particularly good match for a hirer's trip

These hirers have already been actively trying to organise a trip on Camplify, so Booking Opportunities gives you the chance to proactively put your van in front of them.

How often should I check for new opportunities?

New opportunities may become available as hirers choose to share their requests, so it's worth checking Booking Opportunities regularly, particularly when you have availability you'd like to fill.

What if none of the current requests are suitable for my van?

There's no need to respond. Only get in touch when you genuinely think your vehicle and availability could work for the hirer's trip. You can check back later for new opportunities that may be a better fit.
