Setting up and Reviewing your Van Listing
Describe why your RV is great
When listing your RV on Camplify, creating an engaging and informative description is crucial to attract potential hirers. Start with a captivating introduction and highlight a unique or charming feature of your RV to capture their attention.
- Vehicle size
- Power/solar/gas setup
- Water setup
- Van layout
- Bedding configuration/berths
- What's included in the hire e.g. kitchen utensils/towels/cleaning equipment
- Any other key features, such as awning, BBQ, number of chairs/seating etc.
- If you have any strict rules or holiday types you wish to highlight i.e. pet-friendly, not suitable for festivals, minimum booking nights, suitable for long trips etc.
The more personality you can add to your listing, the better. This helps hirers understand what type of holidays your van is best suited for.
Emphasise the comfort and convenience of your RV, and mention any features that will make their trip more enjoyable. It's also a good idea to mention its suitability for different types of trips, such as weekend getaways, family vacations, or extended road trips.
Tailoring your description to your target audience is also important. Consider the type of hirer you want to attract and adjust your description accordingly. By creating an appealing and detailed description, you can showcase your RV's best features and convince potential hirers that it's the perfect choice for their trip.
Example:
“Ronald the Road Roamer is the ultimate home-away-from-home for adventurers seeking a memorable and comfortable journey. The spacious interior, featuring a queen-size bed with premium bedding, guarantees a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring. The fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a fridge, stove, and ample storage, makes meal preparation a breeze, while the convertible dining area ensures quality family time.
With solar panels and a reliable power system, you'll have the freedom to explore off-grid locations without sacrificing modern conveniences. Ronald the Road Roamer also boasts a custom-designed outdoor shower, providing a refreshing experience amidst nature.
Whether you're embarking on a romantic weekend escape, a family holiday, or an extended road trip, Ronald the Road Roamer is your perfect travel companion, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable adventure every time."

Additional information
When creating a listing on Camplify, providing detailed additional information can help potential hirers understand your expectations and what's included with the hire. Start by sharing your reasons for renting out your RV or add a personal touch to connect with hirers. Outline your expectations for the RV's return condition, such as cleanliness, fuel levels, and any specific cleaning tasks hirers should complete. Many owners mention discounts, specials, additional mileage charges, and seasonal pricing, so hirers understand why they may see a “from” price that is different from their daily rate. You can discuss any complementary extras here including items like games, equipment, or BBQs for example.

Hiring rules
When renting out your RV through Camplify, it's essential to establish specific hiring rules to ensure a smooth experience for both you and the hirer. While Camplify provides a standard set of Terms and Conditions for hirers and owners, adding your own hiring rules will encourage responsible hirers and minimise the risk of damage to your RV. Here are some common categories and examples of hiring rules you can consider:
Example
EMERGENCY: If you have any concerns, an engine warning light appears or an accident occurs, please pull over and call the owner for assistance once all occupants are safe.
For all written communication between hirers and owners, please use the Camplify App.
General rules
- No off-road driving
- No smoking inside the RV
- No off-road/beach driving/extended unsealed roads
- No pets, or pets allowed only upon application
- Hirer age restrictions (as set by the owner)
- Awning must be packed away in case of windy weather
- RV must be returned tidy or a cleaning fee may be applied
- Standard pick-up/drop-off times (remember, a full 24-hour period is available for booking)
- No cooking inside the van (use BBQ provided)
- Return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel
- Refill gas or gas is included in the hire
Motorhomes/campervans specific rules

- Travel distance limits (radius from base)
- If an engine light appears, hirers must pull over and call the owner for assistance immediately
Pricing your listing
While pricing is completely up to you, here are some suggestions for approaching your pricing strategy.
Research local competition
Look for similar vehicles in your area, consider what they include, and how much they charge. Of course, we recommend you research other local vans on Camplify as your first check. You can also research other local competitors such as motorhome hire companies to get a feel for acceptable rental pricing in your area.
Service fee
The service fee is a one-time fee per booking to cover cleaning, restocking, perishables, and wear and tear.
We recommend setting this to about £25 (the average on Camplify). Many owners choose to keep this at zero.
Extra products
You can offer a selection of extra products e.g. generator, bike rack, BBQ for a fee.
A good rule of thumb for additional products is to include the standard, basic items that a hirer will need for their trip, but any high-value or experience-boosting items attract additional fees.
Delivery fee
The delivery fee is a once-off charge for the total distance to deliver an RV. e.g. (100m drop off x .45p) x 2 trips.
Seasonal pricing
We offer the flexibility to change your pricing based on calendar dates. Generally, most owners review pricing based on peak periods.
We recommend increasing your ‘default’ pricing by around 10-15% for shoulder periods and 30% for peak periods. For example:
- £70 off-peak
- £85 shoulder
- £100 peak
Peak periods include dates such as:
- School holidays
- Public holidays
- Festivals and events
Deals, discounts, and special offers
You can offer deals to increase bookings during low periods. Some owners provide discounts to friends and family, or content creators in exchange for photos, videos, and being tagged on social media.
This is also a great way to get some incredible photos to include on your listing! As we know listings with great photos attract more hirers and get more bookings.
To apply a discount, you can reduce your daily rate before accepting the booking or contact us with the booking number and details.
Minimum days
Camplify has a minimum of 2 days for a booking. By keeping your minimum set to 2 days, you are likely to receive more bookings however, you will need to manage a larger amount of inquiries, cleaning, and handovers.
Consider if you would like people to go away for a weekend or prefer a longer trip at the risk of fewer bookings.
Linen
You have the option to include linen at either no cost, a fee, or exclude it from hire. Linen refers to everything that would typically go on a bed during a stay and includes sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels. You should clearly inform hirers if you do not include any of these items, so they can adequately prepare for their adventure.
Cleaning fee
You are expected to clean between hires for hygiene and tidiness however a cleaning fee can be charged for excessive cleaning. Some hirers may opt to pay this upon booking. In some circumstances, Camplify can be notified that a cleaning fee will need to be charged as a part of the post-hire checklist damage process and will be reviewed by our team.
Naming your listing
When listing your RV on Camplify, it's essential to choose a creative and unique name that not only captures its personality but also sets it apart from other listings. Instead of just mentioning the brand, year, and make, consider using puns and play-on-words to give your van character. Before finalising your RV’s name, check to make sure it hasn’t been used already so that hirers can identify your unique RV.
