How Do Festival Bookings Work on Camplify?
Festival bookings work the same as any other booking on Camplify. Hirers will submit a booking request through the platform, and you can review the details before deciding whether to accept.
Many owners choose to add an additional festival service charge to cover extra cleaning, preparation, or wear and tear that may come with festival trips.
A key benefit of festival bookings is that the vehicle often remains parked for the majority of the trip, typically for 3–4 days at a campsite or festival RV area so there’s less driving and mileage compared to traditional road trips.
As always, you can communicate with the hirer beforehand to confirm festival details, and ensure the trip is suitable for your vehicle.
How Do I Opt My Vehicle Into (or Out of) Festival Bookings?
All vehicles on Camplify are automatically opted in to receive festival bookings making it easier for hirers attending festivals to find campervans, motorhomes, and caravans on the platform.
If you’re happy to accept festival bookings, there’s no action is needed on your side. Your vehicle will already appear to hirers searching for festival-friendly vehicles.
If you would prefer not to receive festival booking requests, you can opt out at any time via your listing dashboard.
- Go to your Listing Dashboard
- Navigate to your vehicle settings
- Toggle off Festival Bookings
Once switched off, your vehicle will no longer appear in festival searches or filters.
If you’re unsure whether festival bookings are right for you, our guides on festival pricing, protecting your van during festival hires, and how festival bookings are covered by insurance may be helpful.
What Does the “Festival Ready” Badge Mean?
The Festival Ready badge highlights vehicles well suited for festival bookings.
Camplify has assessed owner activity on the platform and identified listings where owners appear open to festival hires. This may include owners who have previously accepted festival bookings or have shown interest in offering their vehicle for festivals.
If your listing has the badge, it may appear to hirers specifically searching for festival-friendly vans, visibility during high-demand festival periods.
If you'd prefer to remove the Festival Ready badge, please contact owners@camplify.co.uk and our team can arrange this.
How Do Hirers Find Festival-Friendly Vehicles?
Hirers can use the Festival Ready filter to quickly find vehicles suitable for festival trips.
This filter allows hirers to view listings that have been identified as festival-friendly, helping them quickly find vehicles whose owners are open to festival bookings.
Listings with the Festival Ready badge may appear when this filter is applied, giving them extra visibility to hirers planning festival trips.
Are Festival Bookings Covered by Insurance?
Yes. Festival bookings are covered in the same way as any other Camplify booking, provided the booking is made through the platform and follows the standard terms of hire.
What Should I Check Before Accepting a Festival Booking?
Festival bookings can be a great opportunity, but it’s always a good idea to check a few key details before accepting a request.
Start by confirming where the hirer plans to take your vehicle and which festival they’re attending. This will help you understand the event, campsite conditions, and whether the trip is suitable for your vehicle.
You may also want to confirm:
- Festival location and campsite arrangements
- Whether the hirer has secured a campervan or motorhome camping pass if required
- Details of the guests travelling (e.g. ages)
- Pick up and drop off times
As with any booking on Camplify, it’s important to ensure the hirer meets the driver eligibility requirements under the insurance policy. If you’re using Camplify’s Flex Insurance, we will complete the driving licence checks for you. You can learn more about the requirements here.
Before accepting, take the opportunity to message the hirer through the platform if you have any questions about their plans to ensure the trip is a good fit for both you and your vehicle.
How to Prepare Your Van for Festival Hire
Festival bookings can be a fantastic opportunity for owners, but they often involve off-grid campsites, multi-day stays, and large events, so a little extra preparation goes a long way.
Here are a few simple steps to help ensure your van is ready:
Check your essentials
Ensure all key systems are working properly before the hire begins; including water, electrics, gas, lighting, and any off-grid equipment.
Prepare for off-grid use
Many festivals take place in fields or campsites without hookups. Ensure your van is equipped, such as:
- Fully charged leisure batteries
- Filled water tanks
- Gas bottles with enough supply for the trip
Protect your interior
Festival environments can be muddy. Consider adding:
- Floor mats
- Seat covers
- Easy-clean bedding or upholstery protection
This can help reduce wear and make cleaning easier after the trip.
Provide clear instructions
Festival hirers may be new to campervans and motorhomes, so provide clear instructions on how to use the vehicle, including water systems, toilets, electrics, and waste disposal.
Allow time for cleaning afterwards
Festival hires may require a little extra cleaning, so allow enough time between bookings to reset your van.
With the right preparation, festival bookings can be some of the most rewarding and straightforward hires of the year, especially as the vehicle often remains parked for most of the trip.
How to Prepare Your Van for Off-Grid Festival Use
Many festivals take place in fields or campsites without electrical or water hookups, so your vehicle may need to run fully off-grid for several days. Preparing your van in advance helps ensure a smooth experience for hirers and reduces the chance of issues during the trip.
Here are a few things to check before the booking begins:
- Fully charge your leisure battery - It may be needed to power lighting, water pumps, and other onboard systems throughout the festival.
- Fill the fresh water tank.. Ensure fresh water is ready for washing, cooking, or using the sink.
- Check gas supply - Make sure there is enough for the hob, heater, or fridge.
- Empty waste tanks - Grey water or toilet tanks should start empty at the beginning of the hire.
- Provide clear instructions - Include instructions on how to manage battery usage, water consumption, waste disposal and any other systems on board
- Pack essential items - Consider adding a charging cable, toilet chemicals, torch, levelling blocks etc.
With the right preparation, your van will be well equipped for multi-day festival stays, where the vehicle typically remains parked for most of the trip.
Can I Charge an Additional Festival Fee?
Yes. Owners can choose to apply an additional festival service fee if needed.
Festival bookings may involve extra preparation or cleaning, so some owners choose to include a small additional charge to cover these costs.
You can add a festival fee through your listing page. Click on Manage > Add Optional Extra and choose Festival from the drop down list to do this.
If you plan to charge a festival fee, it’s important to communicate this clearly with the hirer before accepting the booking so there are no surprises.
Can I Offer Delivery for Festival Bookings?
Yes. Offering delivery for festival bookings can work very well and is often appreciated by hirers.
Many festivals are in busy or remote areas, so having the vehicle delivered to a nearby campsite or agreed meeting point can make the experience much easier for them.
Many owners allow hirers to leave their car at the owner’s location during the hire. This can make collection and return more convenient.
Delivery arrangements (including location, timing and fees) should be clearly agreed with the hirer in advance.
