What are the pre-hire and post-hire checklists?

The pre- and post-hire checklists are essential online steps that must be completed by you in the presence of the hirer (unless both parties have agreed otherwise in writing). These checklists should be done just before the booking starts and immediately after it ends. Checklists are always completed in the Owner App.

If the checklists are not completed, Camplify may be unable to support damage coverage or process an insurance claim.

Think of the checklists as a conditions report with photos.

Make sure you and the hirer thoroughly inspect the RV to avoid any potential post-hire discrepancies. The pre-hire checklist takes into account the following:

  • Hirer identification checking
  • Existing condition of the van and its contents (interior + exterior)
  • Existing damage (if any)
  • Fuel and gas levels (if applicable)
  • General cleanliness
  • Safety checks
  • Agreed mileage distance allocation (if applicable)
  • Inventory

This process should take between 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the complexity of the van, and every effort should be made to familiarize the hirer with all of the van's features to ensure they understand how to take appropriate care once it is handed over. A good handover is key to a successful hire!

When the van is returned, complete the post-hire checklist in the presence of the hirer.  This is an opportunity for you to inspect your van for any damage or unexpected uncleanliness. Even if the van is returned late at night we recommend that you inspect it in the presence of the hirer.

You can submit your pre-hire and post-hire checklists through the Camplify app. Please submit these documents within 48 hours of the beginning or upon completion of the hire. These completed checklists are crucial for hires who need to process an excess (bond) or insurance claim. Without these completed checklists, Camplify cannot assist in recovering the excess or processing an insurance claim.

Damage must be notified as soon as it happens and no later than 24 hrs after the booking ends. Damage reported after this deadline will void your damage or insurance claim.

The checklists are there for you - please make sure you use them for every hire!
